In the UK, the 19th of July feels like a new year.

There are horns everywhere, no masks in businesses, and nightclubs open at 9 a.m. All covid-19 limitations have been lifted for the first time in the last 16 months. I considered how odd it would be to celebrate this in my own country. But, regrettably, things are worse, and limitations have been intensified.

On my side of the world, there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and I am excited to see more places and meet new people, but I am a pessimist, so I will most likely keep my mask on and be cautious.

This is the first of 30 entries to come to Annie's aid; she is a fantastic writer who has had writer's block. I'm up for a challenge at any time. So I'll take on this challenge, which will be even sweeter because it will assist someone else.
