The Wisdomous - Forgive, Connect and Record.

Happy Wednesday,

Welcome to another edition of The Wisdomous!

This is the eleventh issue. After 10 designs, we are treating ourselves to a newsletter redesign - I hope you like it.

Last week, I treated myself to the longest feature film ever in my life. 4 hours and 2 mins; that is how long Justice League Syneider's Cut is and definitely better than Whedon's.

Besides the binge-watching party, here is a good tip for consistency that I have been reflecting on:

  • Prime your environment for success. If you want to read more, scatter books around your house. If you want to eat better, only purchase nourishing food. The inverse also applies; remove temptations instead of relying on willpower - reduce friction.

Nuggets

  • The thing you’re angry at isn’t the issue; your anger is.

  • Sometimes we have to ditch passion for strength.

  • Almost all the pleasures of life are best enjoyed as a byproduct. They lose their value if chased directly.

  • You don't have to be extreme, just consistent.

  • You can walk a marathon; you can't sprint it.

  • Beauty warms people, and smart, cools people.

I wrote

  • Maybe the word is tolerant rather than forgiving.: Maybe the word is tolerant rather than forgiving. But either way, we don't have to mistake forgiveness or tolerance or whatever with meekness.

I read

  • How does it feel to get everything you ever wanted? : In this amazing article, Ryan Holliday shares what it feels like after having it all.

  • What are you competing on?: In any competitive market, be prepared to invest your heart and soul and focus on the thing you compete on. You might as well choose something you can live with, a practice that allows you to thrive.

I watched

  • How do we reflect after having it all? : Tom Bilyeu chats with Steven Barlett.

Tools & Tips

  • If you put something down temporarily, say it out loud. ("I've put my phone on the dresser.")"This engages many more areas of the brain (particularly the language centres), which creates a richer memory and makes it less likely you'll forget where you put it."

For Fun

Music

  • Heartbreak Anniversary by Giveon.

  • Follow You by Imagine Dragons.

  • White Dress by Lana Del Rey.

  • Nakupenda by Chike ft Ric Hassan.

Movies

  • The One: Okay - I love sci-fi and binge-watching this.

  • Formula 1: Drive To Survive. This is highly entertaining.

If you found value in today's edition,

How about sharing it with a friend by forwarding them this.

Buy me coffee, and we will hop on a 1hr zoom call sipping on it.
